Title: Dark Industrial Area
Area: Pollution
The production and excessive usage of plastic bags has caused lots of harm to earth. Production of plastic bags requires petroleum and natural gas, both non-renewable resources and additional to that, toxic chemicals used to make plastic produces pollution during the manufacturing process and the energy needed to manufacture and transport plastic bags creates global warming emissions.
Moreover, plastic bag litter has become an environmental nuisance and eyesore. You can see plastic bags being dumped practically everywhere. It will take more than 1 decade for plastic bags to degrade and they will breakdown into tiny bits, contaminating both water and soil. The small particles can also pose threat to marine life, mistaking them for food. Therefore, this illustration of dark industrial area is created to create awareness amongst human on how bad pollution can be; affecting all living organisms and killing earth itself. As you can see from the illustration above, there are thick dark smokes emitted from the chimneys. The smokes contribute to air pollution which can cause harm to human and other living things plus, depleting the ozone layer which protects earth from harmful UV rays. The polluted river are the result of toxic wastes dumped into the river. Fresh water supply will be contaminated thus killing marine life and somehow will cause a lot of trouble to human too. Dark colours are chosen to show the negative impact of pollution to the environment which made the earth become gloomy and dull.
